Grades 3-6

Tackle Football: Grades 3-6 (Co-Ed)

An introduction to the rules, skills, and game of tackle football. Recreational games are played. This program is open to boys and girls who will be in grades 3rd - 6th in the 2026-2027 school year.­­ The program will end with Friday Night Lights on Oct 23, at Hollister Field. Friends and family are welcome to attend.

Players are responsible for providing their own mouthpiece (required) and non-metal cleats. The Oahe Family YMCA will supply a helmet, shoulder pads, jersey, and padded pants. Equipment checkout for last names A-M is August 27th, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Equipment checkout for last names N-Z is August 31st, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

Equipment must be cleaned and returned by November 3rd. Jersey and pants must be washed, the mouthguard and name tag removed from the helmet, and the shoulder pads wiped clean, or a cleaning charge may be applied. A $50 equipment deposit will be collected at the time of registration. This deposit will be returned upon the timely and proper return of all equipment. Late returns will result in a partial or full forfeiture of your deposit. All equipment must be returned before enrolling in other programs. Failure to return equipment by January 8th, 2027, will incur a $300 replacement charge.

A parent or guardian must be present at practice and games.

Ages 8 - 10 practice 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM
Ages 11 - 12 practice 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Registration Fee: $80 Member/$100 Non-Member (Plus $50 equipment deposit)
Registration Fee after August 15: $95 Member/$115 Non-Member (Plus $50 equipment deposit)

Volleyball: Grades 3-6

Learn, grow, and have fun this fall! Our Autumn Volleyball Program helps players build and improve volleyball skills while learning from coaches with firsthand playing experience. Whether you're new to the game or looking to improve, this program is a great way to grow your confidence and passion for volleyball

The program will end with final games on Thursday, October 29th.

About Amanda Wortman, Head Coach:
Volleyball has always been a huge part of Amanda Wortman's life. Her passion for the sport led her to compete at the collegiate level at South Dakota State University. Amanda's coaching career began during college, and she later continued coaching club volleyball right in Pierre.

Amanda is excited to bring her passion to the YMCA Youth Volleyball Program and help young athletes build their skills, confidence, and love for the game. Her goal is to create a fun, positive environment where every player can learn, grow, and enjoy volleyball.

Joining Amanda is a group of outstanding coaches with more than 30 years of combined playing and coaching experience. Together, they will provide young athletes with knowledgeable, encouraging instruction throughout the program.

Basketball: Grades 3-6 (Co-Ed)

Oahe Family YMCA Youth Summer Basketball is a co-ed program driven by dedicated volunteers, committed to imparting fundamental skills to young participants. Focused on fostering a love for the game, this initiative provides a supportive environment for kids to learn, grow, and thrive.

The program aims to instill a passion for basketball while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among our community's youth. It emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development.
